Volume 2 1871 - 1950, and now this Volume from 1951 to 2000. The explanation on the inside cover states that this volume as "BEING A
DETAILED ACCOUNT OF THE DEEDS OF BRAVERY IN SAVING LIFE, 1951 - 2000 FOR WHICH
THE ROYAL HUMANE SOCIETY AWARDED THE SILVER MEDAL, THE POLICE MEDAL & THE
STANHOPE MEDAL ACCOMPANIED BY CITATIONS FOR ALL BRONZE MEDALS WITH CLASPS, 1869
- 2000". The citations are given in detail, as culled from the records of the
Royal Humane Society, with precise information on the Police Medal which was
instituted only in 2000 with details of the first award of this honour to
Police Constable Wayne Alexander Martin of the Bedfordshire Police. Students of the Royal Humane Society awards will find this book
fascinating and full of useful citation information. Lucky will be the collectors who have in their collections the RHS silver medals for this time period or have puzzled over how many bars
their bronze medal recipient was really entitled to. A great
research volume to have in any collector's library and highly recommended. Jack Boddington |
